1. Layers

Layers, layers, layers. No one likes making their bed in the morning, let’s be honest. And while it might be even more annoying when you add a throw into the mix, extra layers on your bedding can make your room EXTRA cosy. Plus, they look good. A throw or blanket over your bedding will give your bed that luxurious feel. If your bedroom is lacking colour, you can even choose a throw with a pop of colour which will really brighten up the room. These are some of my top picks: Waffle Honeycomb Throw, Bedsure Soft Fleece Throw and Pom Pom Blanket.

2. Lighting

Lighting is key to a cosy vibe. Are you a big light person or a bunch of small lights on type of person? If you’re the latter, I trust you. No but seriously, who wants harsh clinical lighting when you can have an array of warm lights? Bedside lamps, fairy lights, and salt lamps add to that calming effect.

3. Rugs

Rugs are particularly useful in adding warmth to wooden floors, but they work great with carpet too. Personally, I’m not too keen on fluffy rugs as they carry so much dirt and bacteria over time and can look quite scruffy. I’d opt for a plain rug or one with a pattern if the rest of your bedroom is lacking in decoration. Rugs make a bedroom feel put together and extra snug.

4. Plants

Who doesn’t love an indoor plant? Or if you’re like me, a low maintenance fake plant…plants are great at brightening up a room, while enhancing that cosy vibe. I’d go for one hanging plant or one large potted plant to avoid cluttering up the room. Not only are they pretty, they keep the air in your bedroom even fresher. Win, win!

5. Curtains

Having thick, luxurious curtains will make your bedroom feel like a sanctuary for escape. Not only will they add extra warmth by preventing drafts from seeping through, they can help to block out street light and noise which disturbs your sleep. This is one of my faves: Galaxy Dim Out Curtains.
